About our Masterclass

Our Masterclass is a hybrid learning experience for cross-industry practitioners actively engaged in driving DE&I change across their organisation.

The curated Masterclass comprises of three touchpoints, both virtual and in-person, connecting you to thought-leadership to offer you evidence-based insights to shape your thinking with fresh perspectives.

Designed to give you the actionable takeaways needed to support your people in the ways they need, and help your organisation deliver on its DE&I commitments, our Masterclass is your key to collaborative knowledge-building. This is about growing communities of practice to share your change journeys and build a support network.

Touchpoint 1

22 May 2024 | 10:30 - 12:00 CEST | Virtual

You’ll have the opportunity to meet your cohort at the beginning of the Masterclass Programme before diving into the first session guiding you through data-led DE&I transformation.

Practitioners recognise the crucial role data plays in delivering data-driven DE&I transformation; to make the right people decisions, we need to have access to evidence-based insights. But what does this mean in practice?

This session covers:

  • What opportunities does data present for leadership DE&I sponsorship?
  • How do organisations leverage data to make good people decisions?
  • How can data be collected and used to effectively measure progress?
  • How can we collect inclusive DE&I data while respecting data privacy policies such as GDPR?

Touchpoint 2

12 June 2024 | 10:00 - 17:00 CEST | Berlin, Germany

In addition to understanding who we are and having clarity of purpose, we must also know what skills and competencies we need, as well as those our business and team need, in order to effectively drive sustainable DE&I culture transformation.

Areas of Discussion:

  • What skills and competencies do DE&I practitioners need in order to be effective?
  • How do we design a DE&I strategy that is both global and locally relevant?
  • What role does data play in developing a sustainable DE&I strategy?
  • How can we activate DE&I in both business and leadership?

We must start to frame DE&I as a culture strategy – as part of your shared identity and guiding compass. Cultural transformation demands we build workplaces where people feel safe, connected, valued, and fulfilled. How do we achieve this?

Areas of Discussion:

  • What does effective partnering between various DE&I mechanisms such as Councils, Employee Networks, full-time DE&I staff and those of senior leadership look like?
  • How do we overcome resistance to cultural change?
  • What is the key to unlocking ‘change at scale’ deployed through middle management?
  • How do we align people, processes, and products to deliver sustainable DE&I growth?

To deliver inclusive impact as practitioners, we must lead with self-awareness. Understanding who we are, including our various intersectional identities — both privileged and marginalized — is the first step to becoming an effective and empathetic DEI practitioner.

Areas of Discussion:

  • What is intersectionality and why is it critical to make sure our DE&I efforts are intersectional?
  • Which aspects of my identity are privileged or marginalised, and how does this change depending on context?
  • How does my intersectionality impact my work as a DE&I practitioner?

Our host partner, University of Europe for Applied Sciences, share their critical research on intersectionality, offering insight into a holistic approach to DE&I.

Transformational Leadership demands a new practice; one that is inclusive, values-led, purposeful, and underpinned by Cultural Intelligence CQ®.

Areas of Discussion:

  • How do cultural values influence our ability to lead in effective ways?
  • How does CQ allow us to grow our inclusive leadership capabilities?
  • How can we bridge differences across borders, international teams, and generations to build cultures of belonging?

Touchpoint 3

19 June 2024 | 10:30 - 11:45 CEST | Virtual

DE&I programs have by nature been designed to address the inequities and bias experienced by marginalised groups. Inclusion strategies are formed around the unique barriers and challenges marginalised groups face. An unintended outcome is that men feel sidelined and disenfranchised.

Areas of Discussion:

  • How do we counter men feeling alienated from the DE&I space?
  • How do we engage men when it comes to DE&I to support them in becoming active change agents?
  • What opportunities are there to transform men into DE&I change makers?

We draw the Masterclass Programme to a close with an action learning workshop designed for self-reflection on your key takeaways as individuals and a cohort. It is also a unique opportunity for you to build a community of practice.
