Key Strategic Focuses
The Introspective Practitioner: Building An Effective & Impactful DE&I Strategy
If we are to deliver inclusive impact as practitioners, we must lead with self-awareness and integrity.
Understanding who we are and how we are influenced, informs the work that we do.
- What motivates and drains us as practitioners? What do we need to stand back from to be more effective?
- How do we build the core components of a DEI strategy which is both locally and globally context-relevant?
- What role does data play in building a sustainable strategy?
- How can we embed DEI into the business and leadership?
Bank of Ireland: Active Inclusion & Advocacy
There continues to be mixed progress across industries in Ireland, not just in terms of gender equity but across the diversity spectrum, particularly when it comes to redressing underrepresentation in senior roles of influence. So, what work still needs to be done?
- How do we lift as we climb to become effective allies?
- What impact does sponsorship and mentoring have when it comes to active inclusion?
- Which actions need to be taken for an inclusive leadership practice to multiply?
Using Data to Advance DE&I
Practitioners recognise the crucial role data plays in delivering data-driven DE&I change; to make the right people decisions, we need to have access to evidence-based insights. But what does this mean in practice?
- What opportunities does data present for leadership DE&I sponsorship?
- How do organisations leverage data to make good people decisions?
- How can data be collected and used to effectively measure progress?
- How do we prepare for the EU European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) disclosure requirements?
Making Room For Women of Colour in the Workplace:
Facing up to Race & Ethnicity
Ireland is witnessing seismic societal shifts with migration altering the fabric of Irish society, heralding the potential for new opportunities to harness invaluable skillsets women bring to leadership.
- How do organisations become agents of change to cultivate community and belonging both internally and externally?
- What does better organisational support look like for women of colour leaders?
- What do leaders need to do differently to effectively work and relate with people from different cultural backgrounds?
Our facilitator also shares their deeply personal journey navigating a harsh world as a proud Black African Ibo woman living and working abroad in the UK as an immigrant. It is the covert racism in the workplace that has all too often led her to question her own competence and value.
Building Equity By Design: Disability Inclusion
It is time we dispense with the misguided Medical Model of Disability (i.e. people need to be fixed) and instead embrace a Social Model of Disability (i.e. eliminating the systemic barriers).
- The Irish labour market has the largest employment gap of Disabled People compared to other EU countries, so how do organisations shift the needle?
- What environmental, social, and organisational barriers exist for Disabled People?
- How do we move beyond simply making reasonable adjustments, to instead build accessibility into design?
