Allyship Unlocked
Stepping into Active Allyship
Crafted for you to unlearn, self-examine, and enable impactful change together.
Programme Overview
Now more than ever, each of us have a responsibility to self-educate, activate, and step up to become the allies our underrepresented and marginalised communities need. Allyship demands of us to bridge our differences and engage with one another to rebuild a more equitable world.
Combining a balance of learning and self-examination, our Allyship Unlocked learning experience equips your people with the knowledge and resources needed to grow their allyship capabilities – a vital component to an inclusive leadership practice and essential in a world of diverse markets, customers, ideas, and talent.
Gain the opportunity to critically reflect on the ways in which you have been complicit in unjust systems and explore what allyship looks like in practice to discover the actionable steps you need to take as an active ally to foster a culture of allyship in your organisation.
Bite-size Learning
Over the course of the Programme comprising of 3 x 75-minute virtual workshops, we’ll explore core DE&I concepts and deepen your understanding of an active allyship practice to support you on your inclusion journey.
- Workshop 1: Unlearning With Empathy, Staying Curious & Awkward
- Workshop 2: Deep Reflection And Doing The Self-Work
- Workshop 3: Nurturing An Active Allyship Practice
We build the foundations required to embark on this learning experience together, by focusing on establishing psychological safety for learners to begin unlearning and asking curious questions.
- Recognise the importance of psychological safety.
- Put learning into practice by listening to understand.
- Gain confidence engaging with people led by respectful curiosity.
Allyship demands of us to ask the tough questions of both self and others, and most importantly, lean into the discomfort to learn from it. We confront feelings of shame, guilt, and fear; recognising the centring of our own comfort acts as a barrier to allyship.
- Recognise and come to terms with feelings of guilt, shame, and denial.
- Grow your own self-awareness to lead more inclusively.
- Harness your discomfort as a catalyst to make change.
As an active and consistent practice, allyship is about using our power and privilege to achieve equity, inclusion, and justice while holding ourselves accountable to marginalised people’s needs.
- Understand what allyship is and how to leverage it to affect change.
- Put your privilege to work and share power.
- Approach your DE&I commitments with intentionality, accountability & transparency.
